Program Costs
Curriculum and Testing
Unit and Final Examinations are given throughout the program. Student must achieve a 75% on examinations to complete the course. Students must also obtain 100% on skills checklists.
Classroom and Skills Laboratory
   • 48 hours
Clinical Externship
   • 120 hours
Admission
Admission Requirements
Academic
Applicants must be graduates of an accredited high school or possess a General Education Diploma (GED) issued by the Department of Education, or a Home School Equivalent (Certificate).
Official High School Transcripts, GED, or HSE Verification is needed with admissions documents.
Health
Applicants must present:
- Certification of appropriate health (verified by pre-entrance physical given by a physician or certified nurse practitioner)
- Immunization history or titers
- Two-step PPD or chest x-ray for tuberculosis
- Hepatitis B vaccine is recommended for the applicants protection in accordance with OSHA Regulations
Clearances
Applicants must submit acceptable Pennsylvania State Criminal Background Check, FBI fingerprint clearance (through Department of Human Services), and Child Abuse History Certification
